Just two weeks after being name the new State Senate Majority Leader, Dean Skelos is familiarizing himself with issues facing the upstate economy.
He met today with Oneida County Executive Tony Picente and was part of a luncheon hosted by the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Skelos says revitalizing upstate is high on his priority list, along with capping property taxes and job creation.Skelos said his goal is to bring an AMD, or Advance Micro-Devices plant to the Marcy nano-center site. He also hopes to pass an upstate economic development package within the next month.
Skelos and Senator Tom Libous were invited to the area by Senator Joe Griffo.
