A Morrisville man escaped serious injury after suffering a diabetic reaction behind the wheel, according to Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies.
Antonio Hernandez, 73, became incoherent while driving on Route 5 in Vernon and his pickup truck hit a trailer parked on the side of the road, deputies said.
The impact blew out Hernandez' tire but deputies say he kept driving until he was eventually stopped by police.
After an evaluation, authorities concluded he suffered a diabetic reaction while driving, deputies said.
Vineall Ambulance transported Hernandez to Oneida City Hospital for further treatment.
No one was injured and no tickets were issued.
