It appears the Eastside Senior Day Center will close at the end of August.
Maureen Dunn-Murphy, program development specialist with the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, says they'll end their programs for seniors there on August 31st.
There are only 12 active member seniors who participate in programs at the facility and the need for such programs has been low for the last several years, Dunn-Murphy said.
The city owns the building at 675 Catherine Street, she said.
Economic Development Director Robert Sullivan could not be reached for comment Thursday.
Dunn-Murphy says this will not impact any of the other programs and services offered by the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency.
