Oneida County is receiving $116,947 from a Medicaid Drug Priced Fraud Suit
against Bristol-Myers Squibb. The settlement is part of a nationwide case of similar claims that
was negotiated by the County and the State Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Oneida County alleged 47 pharmaceutical companies fraudulently reported inflated Average
Wholesale Prices of their drugs, resulting in millions of dollars of overcharges to Medicaid. The
Settlement will bring New York State over 40 million dollars, almost the full value of its claims
against the company.
