Herkimer County Community College has a budget in place for next year.
The Herkimer County Legislature approved, 13 to 3, the new budget, which cuts eight positions at the college.
Some of the employees being laid off, along with union representatives spoke during a public hearing Wednesday asking the legislature to table the budget.
Legislator Joseph Chilelli says he supports the budget because he trusts college officials to make the right decision.
C-S-E-A Herkimer County Unit President, JoAnne LeClair, says the union will continue to file grievances and follow up on its options for the employees.
