The New Hartford School District's assistant superintenent of business affairs is one of two candidates to become superintendent of schools.
Robert Nole has held the postition for 5 years and has also worked locally in the Holland Patent, Oriskany and Utica School districts'.
The other is Michael Schmidt, director of high schol and career education for the Syracuse School District.
Current superintendent Daniel Gilligan is retiring in the fall.
The finalists are scheduled to be interviewed by the Board of Education early next month.
