of America that's the number of unionized jobs
lost at Verizion in New York and New England,
since their contracts were last negotiated in
2003. Local Chapter President Michael Garry
says they have been at the bargining table
regarding job security for too long. Garry also
says the company is demanding major
concessions including increased employee and retirement health care costs, and complete
elimination of retiree health care for all new employees. Verizon officials could not be reached for a
comment.
