New Volunteers appointed as Child Advocates

Nine volunteers were sworn in to serve the Court Appointed Special Advocate and Child

Custody Advocate programs, according to the peacemaker Program. The volunteers will be

assisting children that have been abused and neglected or are in the

middle of custody and visitation disputes between their parents. In July the group

completed 40 hours of training and 4 hours of observation in preparation for their new roles.

The volunteers are: Candy Warner, Amy Miller, both of Rome, Robin Simmons, of Barnevald, Alene 

Bosquet, of Ilion, Carol Simpson, of Utica, Shirley Van Marter, of New Hartford, Stephen Dudzik, of 

Clinton, Lisa DesGrosiellers, of Mohawk, and Tiffany Richard, of Utica.
