Nine charged under the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005

Nine individuals face charges for allegedly purchasing more than the 9-gram monthly limit of medications containing pseudoephedrine and ephedrine as specified by the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005.

In order to purchase products containing ephedrine and pseudoephdrine, indivudals must show identification and sign a log book at pharmacies or other retail businesses.

The Drug Enforcement Administration along with state and local law enforcement are responsible for monitoring the log books as to prevent anyone from purchasing more than 9 grams within 30 days.

Those charged are:

William R. Cahill, age 34, of Cicero

Jonathan D. Decker, age 34, of Remsen

Jeffrey A. Sullivan, age 43, of Lowville

Todd J. Farney, age 36, of Lowville

Judy Durant, age 40, of Verona

Walter Douglas, age 32, of Rome

Jessica Seigler, age 26, of Rome

Michelle Wiggins, age 46, of Rome

Robert Murphy, age 43, of Rome
