Legislature approves Freeman Holdings to run FBO at airport

Griffiss International Airport's Fixed Base Operations will now be run by Freeman Holdings of New York LLC.

The Oneida County Legislature voted 19 to 8 last night to enter into a contract that allows Freeman Holdings to run the airport.

Majority Leader James D'onofrio says this contract is a great thing for Oneida County and something he's been waiting for for a long time.

Legislator Frank Tallarino did not support the contract. He says he would have liked to have the contract tabled for 6 months to work on it and send out more RFP's to receive more responses.

The contract is for 10 years with an option to extend it for an additional 10 years.
